Experience of parents whose daughter graduated from St. Josephs Foundation TESS programme:

A huge thank you from our family for all you have done for our daughter over the past 3 years. No words can really express how grateful we are for everything you have done for her, in helping her become a more independent, confident and creative adult. Thank you for the happiness you have brought to her life.

Comment from a service user when asked: “What benefits did he think he had gained from being in TESS?”

I learnt a lot. Going up and down getting messages, going to the drama, learning how to cook and bake, going to Mannix College doing computers and going to the library.

Experiences of service users working in supported employment, locally.

Centra is a fantastic place to work. The staff are lovely and I have made a lot of friends!. I am working there 10 years now…..Sharon

I like chatting to the staff!.......Thomas

Volunteer's Experience

Margaret has been a volunteer at St. Joseph Foundation since November 2016. She is on “Buddy System” volunteering and she is involved with one specific person. Her role includes accompanying them to the shop, café, walking and simply spending time with them. She also helps with traveling by train and bus.

Margaret also helps a specific person manage with money. Margaret really enjoys working with St Joseph’s Foundation and she also takes part in fundraising.

Working as a volunteer I try to increase independence, develop skills, self-esteem and provides self-respect for a specific person within their normal day.......Margaret
