First Employment Services (F.E.S.)

First Employment Services is an employment agency with a dual function:

 

        • To facilitate and support the integration of people with disabilities
           into paid employment in the open labour market.

        • Meet the labour requirements of employers.

 

First Employment Services will meet both aims in a spirit of empowerment and inclusion, maximising independence and choice of service users and forging positive labour solutions for employers, thereby promoting a more inclusive society.

CRITERIA

 

Candidates must:

 

           • Be over 18 years of age.

           • Have a disability.

           • Require support to access and maintain employment
             in the mainstream labour market.

 

 

REFERRAL PROCEDURE

Prospective Candidates will be referred to F.E.S. by members of the consortium.   Subject to funding an open referral process will apply from January 2002.

 

JOB COACH

 

St. Joseph’s Foundation is currently in the process of recruiting a Job Coach to enhance our services.  The main job goal of the job coach is to assist and support persons with a disability to access, secure and maintain employment in open/supported employment.

 

This service is in addition to the services offered by F.E.S. and therefore will afford additional service users the opportunity to sample work experience and possibly employment.
